Ms. Concholar has been the Educational Talent Search Director for over eight years and worked for other Federal TRIO Programs, including Student Support Services, Educational Opportunity Center and the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.  She began her TRIO work experience at Phoenix (community) College and made her way to Arizona State University, her alma mater, before moving to Maryland.  Ms. Concholar acquired her Master of Arts in Organizational Communications from Bowie State University.  Prior to her current position, Ms. Concholar was the Educational Talent Search Director at Anne Arundel Community College, and  then an Assistant Director of Admissions for ECAP (Early College Access Programs).  She enjoys working with young people in their quest to obtain education beyond high school in order to pursue their ambitions.

Tanaj Mogase is thrilled to be part of the UMBC TRIO Educational Talent Search team! She is dedicated to helping students navigate and excel in their educational goals beyond high school. Growing up in Buffalo, NY, she learned firsthand from her parents, who were first-generation college students, how crucial a good education is. Ms. Mogase later earned a Bachelor’s degree in biology and obtained her teacher certification. For over 15 years, she has taught high school science to students within the Baltimore County Public School System and overseas in South Africa. Now, as academic coordinator she is encouraged to keep the momentum going and continue empowering middle and high school students on their academic journeys.

Meet Itoro Baker! Itoro is a dedicated academic coordinator with a background in social work/advocacy. Prior to working with Talent Search, Itoro served the community for 10 years advocating for youth and families and connecting them to resources across Maryland. She is passionate about empowering individuals and families by providing them information and offering support. Itoro built a career around connecting people to critical resources, services and opportunities that foster stability and growth. With a strong background in family centered support, Itoro excels at navigating complex systems, advocating for equitable access and building collaborative partnerships with community organizations. Grounded in empathy, love and laughter, Itoro is committed to creating lasting and positive change in the lives of those she works to support.
